N.L. Moore Biographical Sketch

Pastor N. L. Moore is a native of Huntsville, AL. and is the son of Harold and Delois Moore. He is married to the   former Evelyn Faye Scott, a native of Pittsburgh, PA and is the father of four.

Pastor Moore accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized under the pastorate of Rev. T. C. Johnson of the St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church in Huntsville, AL. He acknowledged his call to preach the gospel on December 6, 1998, licensed to preach the gospel on October 31, 1999 and ordained into the pastoral ministry on September 8, 2002 at the New Life Missionary Baptist Church in Cincinnati, OH under the pastorate of Rev. W. D. Billups.

Upon graduation from Tuskegee University, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, he was employed as a Systems Analyst from 6/1996-8/2000 by Ethicon Endo-Surgery, a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson in Cincinnati, OH. He served not only as a team member but also a team lead to implement various IT solutions and strategies that covered Ethicon plants from Cincinnati, OH to Juarez, Mexico and supported on-site employees as well as off-site sales representatives.

He served as the Pastor-Administrator for Christ's Community in College Hill from 9/2000-12/2005. CCCH is an ecumenical outreach ministry that serves the College Hill Community of Cincinnati, OH through its Summer Youth Camps, Rent/Utilities Assistance Program and other need-based services. One of his most treasured achievements during tenure was the implementation of the College Hill Clean Cut Initiative, a youth landscaping entrepreneurship project.


Pastor Moore served as the pastor of the Centerville Missionary Baptist Church from August 2002 to August of 2009.

He has been blessed to serve as an instructor, workshop leader and class facilitator during local, state and regional conferences such as Lifeway's "Be the Man Conference", the General Association of Baptists in Kentucky's Annual Pastors' Conference and the Consolidated Baptist District Association's K.L. Moore School of Religion.

Pastor Moore currently serves as the 14th Pastor of First African Baptist Church and in May 2011 received his Master of Divinity Degree from Lexington Theological Seminary and received his Doctor of Ministry Degree (D.Min.) from the United Theological Seminary, Dayton, Ohio in May 2017.

He accepted the call on June 27, 2009, preached his first sermon as pastor on August 16, 2009 and was installed on October 18, 2009. He is leading us to achieve our mission of becoming "The Church in the Community for the Hearts of the Community." The 4 Steps to achieving our mission is to be A Hospitable Church, A Holy Church, A Healthy Church and A Helping Church.

His ministerial objective is to fulfill God's divine call to teach and preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ with power, conviction and simplicity while exemplifying a character of impeccable credibility, humility and spirituality.
